All,

Here is an update on our friend Paul Huntsberger, dated September 30, 2008

     Paul is doing well.  They too him off the ventilator at 5 AM today.  He has been in a chair for most of the afternoon and even walked down the corridor accomanied by loads of varying sized toubs and electronic gadgets.

     His surgeon, Paul Levy, is impressive as are the nursing and other support staff.  Paul is going to participate in a clinical trial regarding coumadin Leyles for arotic valve recipients.  No - I didn't nudge him into it in the slightest - but it is very cool to be able to participate in a scientific study,

     Paul was getting rather down prior to the surgery as he excercises regularly, takes cholesterol medicine, and eats hearth healthy.  His surgeon belives the damage was caused by the radiation therapy he had for testicular cancer in the late 70's and not lifestyle.

     We hope to be home early next week.

     Paul is currently in room 220 Heart Hospital of New Mexico.
